New: Payroll Data Integration & Reconciliation for EBP Engagements

One of the most impactful updates this year is the addition of payroll and reconciliation workflows within EBP engagements. These include new reports, including the ability to reconcile key sources of data from both payroll and recordkeeper providers, making your audits more accurate and enabling you to spend less time troubleshooting errors.  

Two New Automated Payroll Reports Available

You can now run payroll data through AuditMiner with one or two simple input reports from your clients and instantly generate:

  • Payroll Detail Report – Breaking out employee-level payroll data by pay period.
  • Census Report – A complete year-level summary that includes employee demographics alongside payroll data.

Plan and Participant Reconciliation

When both recordkeeper and payroll data are uploaded to the same engagement, AuditMiner now automatically reconciles:

  • Total plan-level contributions
  • Contribution dates
  • Participant-level activity

We’re very excited to announce that the AuditMiner platform can now generate 401(k) recordkeeper and payroll data in a format that integrates directly with OnPointEBP engagement templates. AuditMiner is the first solution to offer direct compatibility with OnPoint’s templates using validated 401(k) recordkeeper data.

Removing the need to manually reformat datasets, AuditMiner’s standardized, validated data can be imported straight into OnPointEBP workbooks, allowing you to begin testing immediately. The templates are produced alongside our standard AuditMiner workpapers at no additional cost, giving you full flexibility to work in the methodology and toolset that best fits your workflow. Mapping payroll files can be a heavy lift, especially on the first audit with a client.
We’re making this easier by:

  • Speeding up the process with smart, automated recommendations.

3. Universal Recordkeeper Support

AuditMiner is reimagining how we support recordkeeper data to allow any provider’s Excel-based reports to be uploaded, transformed, and analyzed in AuditMiner, even if we’ve never supported that provider before.

This will:

  • Mirror our flexible payroll support model.
  • Dramatically expand the number of plans AuditMiner can process.
  • Open new use cases and reduce bottlenecks for firms with diverse client bases.

4. Multi-Provider Data Uploads

For clients that switch providers mid-year or go through M&A-related events, AuditMiner will soon allow:

  • Uploads from multiple recordkeepers within the same engagement.
  • Automatic combining and merging of those datasets.
  • Seamless analysis across mixed data sources.

This enhancement supports real-world complexity while ensuring your workpapers remain standardized and complete.

We’re continuing to expand customization options, so firms can tailor AuditMiner’s output to match your methodology, not the other way around. This includes more template flexibility alongside our newly added OnPointEBP-compatible options.
